Check-in Sensors

Check-in sensors are designed to remind you when an item or area requires regular check-ups. Place these sensors on the items or in the areas that need regular monitoring.

When a check-in is due, you’ll receive a notification via the Hygiene IQ app. The details of the reminder, including the room name and the date and time of the task, will appear on the Tasks page.

Once the task is completed, you can log it by waving in front of the sensor. The sensor will flash green twice to confirm that the task has been recorded. Alternatively, you can mark the task as closed directly in the app.

How to set up a Check-in sensor

To activate a sensor as a Check-in sensor, follow these steps:

1. Unbox the sensor, remove the back cover, and pull out the battery tab. Insert the battery and replace the back cover. Wait for the blue LED light on the top cover to start flashing rapidly.
2. In the Hygiene IQ app, scan for the sensor by tapping ACTIVATE SENSOR during location or room creation.

• If adding the sensor later, tap Add Device in the room page and select Add Sensor.


3. The app will scan for nearby sensors—select the detected sensor to activate it.

4. After the sensor is activated, the app will transition to the Sensor Settings page. Tap the dropdown menu in the Select sensor type field and choose Check-in.

5. Next, assign the sensor to the item or area that needs monitoring. Tap the What needs to be checked regularly? field and enter the name of the item or area.

6. After assigning the sensor, decide whether you want check-in reminders just once a day or at regular intervals. This option is turned Off by default. If you prefer a single daily reminder, toggle the Remind once a day only option On.


7. If you prefer repeated Check-in reminders, define the notification intervals in the Repeat every field. It can be set in 15 minute increments (it is defaulted to once a hour). Skip this step if you turned on the Remind once a day only option earlier.

8. Select the Notification hours and Notification days applicable to this sensor. Reminders will only be sent during the specified times and/or days.

9. Peel off the adhesive tape cover on the back of the sensor and attach it securely to the item or in the area it was assigned to.
10. Add a photo of the sensor in the app by selecting the Add Photo button (optional). Choose one of the following options:

• Take New Photo – Select this option to take a picture of the sensor with your mobile device.
• Select from Library – Select this option to choose a picture of the sensor already saved on your device.


11. Tap Next to complete the sensor setup in the Hygiene IQ app.
