Door Sensors

Door sensors track how often an area is accessed by counting the number of times a door is opened. Place these sensors on entryway doors to monitor usage frequency.

When adding a door sensor to a room in the Hygiene IQ app, you will need to set a threshold for the number of door openings before a notification is sent. Once this threshold is met, a notification will be sent through the app. The notification details, including the room name and the date and time, will be displayed on the Tasks page.

Each time the sensor detects a door opening, it records the action and updates the count. The sensor will flash green twice to confirm the entry was recorded. Once the threshold is reached, a notification is sent. This process repeats continuously, and you will be notified each time the door opening count reaches the defined threshold.

How to set up a Door sensor

To activate a sensor as a Door sensor, follow these steps:

1. Unbox the sensor, remove the back cover, and pull out the battery tab. Insert the battery and replace the back cover. Wait for the blue LED light on the top cover to start flashing rapidly.
2. In the Hygiene IQ app, scan for the sensor by tapping ACTIVATE SENSOR during location or room creation.

• If adding the sensor later, tap Add Device in the room page and select Add Sensor.


3. The app will scan for nearby sensors—select the detected sensor to activate it.

4. After the sensor is activated, the app will transition to the Sensor Settings page. Tap the dropdown menu in the Select sensor type field and choose Door.

5. Next, assign the sensor to the area you want to monitor. Enter the name of the area in the Which door to monitor? field by tapping the field and typing the name.

6. Set how many times the door must open before a notification is sent. Enter the value in the How many times before we notify you? field (default is 20).

7. Peel off the adhesive tape cover on the back of the sensor and attach it securely on the door it was assigned to.
8. Add a photo of the sensor in the app by selecting the Add Photo button (optional). Choose one of the following options:

• Take New Photo – Select this option to take a picture of the sensor with your mobile device.
• Select from Library – Select this option to choose a picture of the sensor already saved on your device.


9. Tap Next to complete the sensor setup in the Hygiene IQ app.
