Tidy Up Sensors

Use these sensors to receive notifications when an area requires cleaning. You can place the sensors in a location visible to customers for them to interact with or in a discreet spot known only to staff.

To receive a notification, simply wave your hand over the sensor. When it detects the wave, it will flash green twice and simultaneously send a notification through the Hygiene IQ app. Notifications from Tidy Up sensors will appear on the Tasks page, showing the item or area that requires a cleanup, along with the room name, and the date and time of activation.

How to set up a Tidy Up sensor

To activate a sensor as a Tidy Up sensor, follow these steps:

1. Unbox the sensor, remove the back cover, and pull out the battery tab. Insert the battery and replace the back cover. Wait for the blue LED light on the top cover to start flashing rapidly.
2. In the Hygiene IQ app, scan for the sensor by tapping ACTIVATE SENSOR during location or room creation.

• If adding the sensor later, tap Add Device in the room page and select Add Sensor.


3. The app will scan for nearby sensors—select the detected sensor to activate it.

4. After the sensor is activated, the app will transition to the Sensor Settings page. In the Select sensor type field, Tidy Up is selected by default.

5. Next, assign the sensor to a specific item or area by selecting from the provided list or entering a custom name in the What needs tidying up? field.

6. Once the item or area is selected, choose how many waves the sensor should detect before sending a notification. You can set the threshold to 1 to 3 waves before being notified.

7. Next, select whether you want to close an open task directly from the sensor by holding your hand over it. This option is enabled by default. If you prefer to close tasks only through the app, tap the toggle button to turn off this feature.


8. Peel off the adhesive tape cover on the back of the sensor and attach it securely to the item or in the area it was assigned to.
9. Add a photo of the sensor in the app by selecting the Add Photo button (optional). Choose one of the following options:

• Take New Photo – Select this option to take a picture of the sensor with your mobile device.
• Select from Library – Select this option to choose a picture of the sensor already saved on your device.


10. Tap Next to complete the sensor setup in the Hygiene IQ app.
